Today marks the end of my first week at Rescue Time. I recently took over the role of VP, Product Marketing. I’ve spent the following week rolling up my sleeves and learning more about our products, our users and our plans for the future.
As to who I am:
I’m a dad, downhill mountain biker, snowboarder, music lover and techie; 12 years of technology experience and looking forward to contributing to RescueTime.com as the VP of Product Marketing.
Back to this week: I spent Day 1 setting up my environment at the company’s headquarters inside StartPad.org‘s space overlooking Elliott Bay on 811 1st Ave, Suite 480, Seattle, WA 98104. The first thing you notice about our modest space is that there are 3 simple desks with 3 elevated MacBookPro’s and 3 oversized monitors. Down the hall there is coffee, soda, foosball and an atmosphere of I’m getting sh*t done. After the usual setup I started working on a baseline, trying to measure where we are from a traffic and social media presence. I spend the next few days on setting up HootSuite and access to our various accounts – I want to stay as plugged in to our community of users, what’s going on in our industry, HackerNews and our potential partner opportunities. I also begin working on a pilot program called Introductions – I’ll talk more about that once we have completed our pilots. Day 4 and 5 I finished up a blog article about 5 Things I Learned During My Job Search (http://bit.ly/kSE08M) and working on a post for RescueTime.com at the beginning of next week.
It’s still early, but I’m loving it! I always say it’s too small of a world, so feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions: jason [at] rescutime [dot] com.
