RescueTime in PC World Magazine

A quick note that RescueTime was featured in the “beta watch” section of PC World Magazine (in the Feb 2008 edition as well as online). This is the first print coverage that we’ve received (as far as we know) and had nothing to do with any overt PR or marketing effort (given that we have done… er…. no PR or marketing).

Our online coverage has been nothing short of spectacular, with 66,200 pages talking about us according to Google (as I write this). Not too shabby given that we’ve been in open beta for only a few months. Overall, pretty darn exciting for us especially in light of the great features we currently have in the pipeline!

  1. Congrats on the publicity. I’m gonna have to check your product out now. I’m not a developer (I own a development firm and do all the marketing/PR) so I’m wondering if it would be helpful for me.

I think Tim Ferriss does have some good points and I think your software really complements what he says; focus on being productive, not busy. Maybe you can give him a shout and see if he’ll promote you on his blog.

Anywho, if you have advice in how to get so much attention, please drop me a line.

  2. It was the PC mention that led me to your site, and I was signed up and using it just minutes later.

Too bad I just spent $100 on a desktop product to accomplish the same thing.

Can’t wait to see how the product evolves!
